Štěpán Havlín (24)

“I’m grateful for every mistake and misfortune life has thrown my way – they’re what push me forward.”

A fan of long-distance hikes, nature, and quiet days off the grid.

A single unlucky fall ended my beach volleyball career – and started a whole new journey. As the saying goes, a blessing in disguise – and in my case, that’s doubly true.

I’ve walked the Andorra circuit (GRP), part of the Tour du Mont Blanc, and the Goecha La trek in Sikkim, India (the closest viewpoint of Kanchenjunga from the Indian side). Now I’m preparing for Sweden’s Kungsleden – 420 km through Nordic wilderness.

I may still be at the beginning, but I’m all in. I love planning, solving the details, and geeking out over gear – from logistics to fine-tuned equipment that holds up in tough conditions.

I’ve always found inspiration in other people’s blogs. Now I feel it’s time to give something back.

If you’re into ultralight travel – sleeping in a tent, carrying your food (or mailing it ahead), and caring more about the journey than the destination – welcome.

A partner on the trail and in life.

Most of my shorter hikes are with Kristýna – my girlfriend, who shares my love for the mountains and a slow, mindful way of exploring. So far, we’ve mostly done day hikes together, but this year we’re setting off on our first long-distance trek: Sweden’s Kungsleden.

While I tend to seek out challenges, she knows how to slow down and truly enjoy each moment. And that’s exactly why we make such a great team on the trail.
